Empower consumers by taking a free-market approach to healthcare
While we all support the goal of improving access to insurance coverage and reducing costs, I am concerned that the Patient Protecting and Affordable Care Act – better known as Obamacare – does neither. I am opposed to increasing the federal government’s control over our nation’s healthcare system. Instead of a one-size-fits all approach to healthcare, I support policies that empower the consumers’ ability to choose and that modernize the United States’ healthcare infrastructure.
By the Numbers:
22%: Average percent growth of premiums in 2017 under Obamacare
$1,058,000,000: Amount of additional taxes imposed by Obamacare
37: On at least 37 instances, President Obama promised Americans that they would be able to keep their insurance. In reality, millions of Americans have lost or were forced to switch insurance plans to meet Obamacare’s stringent requirements.
Notable Legislation:
H.R. 3762 – Voted in favor of this and other legislation to repeal and replace Obamacare.
