Congressman John Culberson (TX-07) released the following statement after the Obama Administration allowed the UN Security Council to adopt a resolution condemning Israeli settlement construction.

"President Barack Obama shamefully and brazenly betrayed Israel today in the United Nations.  Without any warning, and in a complete reversal of unwavering American support, President Obama has unilaterally and seriously damaged Israel's negotiating position in the ongoing peace talks.  

"Israel is a beacon of freedom and democracy in the Middle East and America has a profound moral, legal and spiritual obligation to be the sword and shield of Israel.  No other nation can say they have been a more loyal friend to America throughout their existence than the State of Israel.  

"I stand ready to help President Trump immediately begin to undo the immense damage that President Obama has done to American and Israeli strength and security.”
