Press Release

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Mark Walker (NC-06) today released the following statement after the removal of an amendment to the House rule package affecting the Office of Congressional Ethics:

"Removing provisions that would make changes to the Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE) from the rules package was the right call.

“We have historic opportunities in the 115th Congress and we cannot afford distractions when the American people have called on us to deliver results. Repealing Obamacare, rescinding burdensome regulations, reforming our tax system, creating jobs and raising wages - these are some of the priorities I bring to this Congress on behalf of the people of North Carolina. Washington needs more accountability and increased transparency to earn back the trust of the people."
