Veterans

Are You a Veteran? We Are Here to Help!

It is my privilege to serve the many men and women in uniform and the veterans who live in Pennsylvania’s Twelfth Congressional District.

We owe all of these brave men and women a debt of gratitude that can never be repaid. It is important that we uphold the commitments we have made and ensure that they receive the respect, support, and care they have earned and rightly expect.

If you or someone in your family is a servicemember or veteran in need of assistance, please contact the Ross Township office at (412) 837-1361, the Beaver office at (724) 359-1626, or the Johnstown office at (814) 619-3659.

Working Towards Accountability and Transparency at the Pittsburgh VA

We have a solemn obligation to stand with our veterans. It is a principle of solidarity. They stood for us. We stand for them.

Unfortunately, the VA experienced several failures to live up to that principle in recent years from Pittsburgh to Phoenix, and around the nation.

I have been working closely with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to get better results for veterans. The VA must develop a culture of accountability to better serve our veterans. Click here to learn more about steps we have taken to bring accountability and transparency to the VA in Pittsburgh and around the nation.

Addressing the VA Backlog in Western Pennsylvania and Around the Nation

In Western Pennsylvania, we are also all too familiar with the massive backlog of disability claims at the VA and the long wait times that veterans must endure. Making our veterans wait excessive amounts of time to receive disability claims decisions does not constitute good customer service. I am working with my colleagues who serve on the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee to find solutions to reduce the backlog and improve customer service at the VA.
