Beatty Statement on National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month

September is National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, dedicated to raising awareness about prostate cancer—the most common form of cancer for American men other than skin cancer. In response, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement:

“One in seven men in the U.S. will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime,” Beatty said. “That is why it is imperative men of all ages, but in particular older men, know more about the risk factors, symptoms, and treatment for prostate cancer.” Beatty continued, “This month and all year long, I encourage men to talk with their doctor about prostate cancer, because we know that early detection is key.”

During September, please be sure to visit Congresswoman Beatty’s Facebook and Twitter for related facts, information and resources. Also, be sure to join in the conversation online by using: #ProstateCancer, #StepUp, #PCAM, and #MensHealth.
