Senator McConnell Comments on House-Passed Bill Which Would Protect Kentucky Coal Jobs
March 25, 2014
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell released the following statement regarding House passage of the Preventing Government Waste and Protecting Coal Mining Jobs Act:
“Today’s vote by the House of Representatives sends a strong message to Kentucky’s coal miners and their families. The effort to scrap this 2008 rule is another example of the Obama Administration’s overreach, and continued assault on our hard working men and women who rely on coal to make a living. I am pleased the House passed this pro-jobs bill, and I call on Majority Leader Harry Reid to immediately take up and pass it. It’s time we stop the War on Coal once and for all and start protecting Kentucky jobs,” Senator McConnell said.
