Senator McConnell and Mayor Fischer Discuss Sherman Minton Bridge

(Washington, DC) –U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell met with Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer on Tuesday in his office in Washington, DC. Mayor Fischer, and several other mayors with the US Conference of Mayors, visited with Sen. McConnell to discuss the economy and how its impacting their cities. Following that meeting, Senator McConnell and Mayor Fischer talked about the Sherman Minton Bridge.
“The closing of the Sherman Minton Bridge is causing traffic and economic nightmares for people on both sides of the river, and getting it reopened as soon as possible is our top priority,” Sen. McConnell said. “I had a good meeting with Mayor Fischer today, and I look forward to continuing our discussions as we move forward on the project.”
