HIP 2.0

On January 27, 2015, Indiana received approval to participate in the expansion of the Medicaid program, as prescribed under the Affordable Care Act, through the Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP).  This new program, known as HIP 2.0, is now available to all individuals and families up to 138 percent of the federal poverty level.  The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) will begin taking applications immediately and coverage will begin February 1.  For more information and instructions on how to apply, please visit the state’s website, at www.HIP.IN.gov, call the state’s helpline, at 1-877-GET-HIP-9, or contact my Merrillville District office, at 219-795-1844.
