McConnell Statement Following Bipartisan White House Meeting
September 25, 2008
WASHINGTON, D.C.— U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell made the following statement Thursday regarding the bipartisan White House meeting:
“The meeting at the White House was constructive, and an opportunity to hear from all sides on how best to stabilize the economy. A week ago today, the Chairman of the Federal Reserve and the Treasury Secretary said that the economy faced a serious threat. Since that time, both parties have worked toward a bipartisan agreement. But it’s clear that more progress is needed and we must continue to work together quickly to protect our economy.”
