NCCU Congressional Internship Program

Since 2007, North Carolina Central University School of Law has worked with NCCU alumnus, Congressman G. K. Butterfield (NC-01), to provide summer internship opportunities for law students in Congressional Black Caucus Member offices. The experience provides students with hands on experience with federal laws, the legislative process, and allows them to apply their legal training to assist members and their staff.

Application Due Date: March 31, 2015 (EXTENDED TO: APRIL 2, 2015)

*A stipend will be provided

Qualifications

Applicants should have skills in:

  • Writing
  • Communications
  • Organization

Applicant must:

  • Be a current and enrolled student at the NCCU School of Law
  • Be detail-orientated
  • Have the ability to manage multiple tasks on a deadline
  • Have a positive attitude

Application 

1. Complete the applicant information form below.

2. Attach the following in a single document (MS Word or PDF)

  • Resume (no more than 2 pages)
  • Cover Letter (no more than 1 page)
  • References (3 minimum professional or academic)
  • Writing Sample (1-page policy statement on an issue before Congress that interests you.)
