Nolan on Track to Help More Than 250 Veterans in 2016

Sep 29, 2016
Press Release
Nolan’s office helps residents of Minnesota's 8th District who are having trouble with federal agencies, including the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense.

In honor of National Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Day, September 29th, U.S. Rep. Rick Nolan saluted the thousands of brave men and women who have served our Nation and doubled down on his commitment to continue serving our military Veterans when they return home.

“We have a solemn obligation to serve and protect the military Veterans who put themselves in harm’s way for our liberties,” Nolan said. “As Congressman, one of my most important jobs is to assist the people of Minnesota’s 8th District – especially our military Veterans – when they’re having a problem or a question with the federal government.”

In 2016, Nolan’s office has closed 176 cases with the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense, helping military Veterans receive the care and recognition they’ve rightfully earned defending our nation. Nolan is on track to assist more than 250 military Veterans in 2016 alone. Since taking office in 2013, Nolan has helped more than 580 military Veterans and Military Personnel.

More than 400 Eighth District constituents in total have received help from Nolan in 2016 with problems involving Social Security, the IRS and other federal agencies. Nolan’s office is on track to close 600 cases this year. Since taking office in 2013, Nolan has assisted more than 3,000 constituents.
