On Sunday, September 2, 2018, the annual Labor Day Capitol Concert, featuring the National Symphony Orchestra, will be held on the West Front of the United States Capitol beginning at 8 p.m.  The gates will open to the public at 3 p.m

The late Senator John S. McCain will lie in state in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda on Friday, August 31, 2018.  Members of the public are invited to pay their respects at the U.S. Capitol.  Following a private arrival ceremony to include Senator McCain’s family and Members of Congress, the U.S. Capitol Rotunda will open to the public from 1 p.m.

On June 28, 2018, in the atrium of the Hart Senate Office Building, United States Capitol Police charged approximately 575 individuals with unlawfully demonstrating.  They were charged with D.C. Code §22-1307, Crowding, Obstructing, or Incommoding.  They were processed on the scene and released that evening.
