Biography

CRANE, Daniel Bever, (brother of Philip Miller Crane), a Representative from Illinois; born in Chicago, Cook County, Ill., January 10, 1936; attended the public schools of Chicago; A.B., Hillsdale College, Hillsdale, Mich., 1958; D.D.S., Indiana University, Indianapolis, Ind., 1963; graduate work, University of Michigan, 1964-1965; dentist; United States Army, captain, 1967-1970; elected as a Republican to the Ninety-sixth and to the two succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1979-January 3, 1985); censured by the U.S. House of Representatives on July 20, 1983, for personal misconduct with a House Page; unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the Ninety-ninth Congress in 1984; resumed the practice of dentistry; is a resident of Danville, Ill.
