As part of it's modernization efforts, the Army announced today that it is converting it's Infantry Brigade Combat Team to a Stryker Brigade Combat Team at Fort Carson. This upgrade is a testament to the quality of our community as the Colorado Springs area continues to be the Army's number one most-requested duty station and is consistently ranked as one of the best cities in the nation to live. Colorado Springs and the entire Pikes Peak region benefit greatly from the economic growth that accompanies decisions such as this. In return, we are proud to provide the support and assistance to our soldiers and their families as they sacrifice so much to serve our country. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vH5rhEnd7I4

I would like to invite college students and recent graduates to apply to the internship program in my Washington, D.C. office for the spring semester. This unique experience is an opportunity to witness and participate in the legislative process firsthand and work in a dynamic congressional office. Whether you are hoping to launch your career in public service or you are looking to gain insight into the process of governing, this opportunity will give you a fresh perspective and lasting memories. Intern duties include giving Capitol tours, answering telephone calls, handling constituent correspondence, attending briefings and hearings, and assisting with projects for legislative, administrative and communications staff. To be considered, please send a one-page resume to CO05internship@mail.house.gov by November 1. Our intern coordinator will then contact you to set up an interview.

I join Israelis and Americans in mourning the brutal murder of Ari Fuld, an American-Israeli husband and father of four. Ari was murdered by a 17-year-old Palestinian terrorist. What teenager wakes up and instead of going to school, decides to stab a man to death in cold blood? A teenager who has been taught to respect and honor terrorists, who has attended summer camps named after them, and who is told he and his family will be paid for doing so. This is why we needed the Taylor Force Act. American tax dollars must not support an entity that financially rewards the murder of innocent Israelis and Americans like Ari Fuld. May Ari’s memory be a blessing and comfort to those who loved him.

OTD: 231 years ago, the Founding Fathers signed the Constitution, giving us a document that established – in the words of Benjamin Franklin – “A republic, if you can keep it." May we continue to uphold and cherish our liberty and freedom.

Why I Support Brett Kavanaugh

I hope to see Judge Brett Kavanaugh confirmed quickly - particularly in time for the U.S. Supreme Court's next term which will begin in October. Congressman Doug Lamborn is honored to have served Colorado's Fifth Congressional District since 2006. He is the current Chairman of the House Natural Resources Committee’s Subcommittee on Water, Power, and Oceans and a member of the Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources. He also serves on the House Armed Services Committee as a member of the Subcommittee on Strategic Forces and the Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities. He has a strong record of advocating for our military and our veterans, defending the Second Amendment, and calling for immigration reform and tax reform. During his tenure in Congress, he has been a strong voice on behalf of small businesses and a consistent leader on pro-family issues. Rep. Lamborm Working to Prioritize Endangered Species

Congressman Lamborn Offered up a bill that would prohibit the use of funds to implement or enforce the threatened species or endangered species listing of any plant or wildlife that has not undergone a five year review as required by the Endangered Species Act of 1973. This would ensure that listed species are properly managed and not enforce protections that do not comply with the law.
