Congressman Hank Johnson held a telephone town hall from his Washington, D.C. office on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. He called more than 50,000 residents in the Fourth District to hear their thoughts on a wide-range of issues such as what the Democratic Party is doing to make sure their voice is heard on Capitol Hill and the Trump Administrator’s immigration policies at our borders.

U.S. Rep Hank Johnson has introduced a bill to create grants for minorities in aviation.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) today introduced the Minorities in Aviation Education Act, H.R. 6005, which would create a grant program aimed at improving the preparation and representation of minorities in aviation-related fields.

The new grant program, administered by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), will be named for Bessie Coleman, an American aviator and the first black woman to earn a pilot’s license.

Johnson joined fellow Democrats in Congress to advocate for reforms that will help the nation’s 30 million small businesses.

U.S. Rep. Hank Johnson, D-Ga., called on Congress to pass legislation to address salary discrepancies between genders and races as he observed Equal Pay Day on Tuesday.

The congressman’s office said his district — which includes Rockdale and parts of Gwinnett, DeKalb and Newton counties — has the highest pay equity of any congressional district in Georgia, according to a National Partnership for Women and Families report.
