Dear Friends,

It’s been a busy September in Washington and meeting with constituents at home. I’m looking forward to returning to Washington this coming week to vote on funding the government and wrap up other unfinished businesses before the fiscal year ends Sept. 30.  It was an honor and a privilege this week to open Georgia State’s weeklong events around Constitution Day and earlier this month being recognized as the 2018 “Bill Hardman, Sr. Tourism Champion Award in Government.”

I’ve also been busy visiting local businesses throughout the district. The Georgia Construction Aggregate Association (GCAA) hosted me for a tour of Vulcan Quarry in Lithonia; the VFW 1432 in Conyers extended an invitation for me to speak to veterans at their post; I spoke with the Kiwanis Club in Covington; I attended the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT) District Council 77 Grand Opening of their new training facility in Decatur and broke bread with Gwinnett residents at an early-morning breakfast meeting.

Before I return to Washington, I’m holding a Twitter Town Hall to take your questions and interact with constituents this Friday, Sept. 21 at 2 PM. While social media will never replace being physically with constituents, it is a good way to connect and hear what people have to say about the issues of the day. If you would like to participate please tweet your questions to #AskHank at 2 PM this Friday. Thank you, and I look forward to answering your questions on Friday.
