Advancement of the Small Business Community "Think Tank"

The importance of the Small Business Community in today’s economy is indisputable, as small businesses account for approximately half of the private workforce’s employment. The “Advancement of the Small Business Community” initiative will be composed of a series of informative and interactive roundtable discussions, leading up to a district-wide Think Tank.

Access to capital and pathways to contracting with the federal government are the most common issues for small business community leaders. The series of roundtables will provide a small group of these leaders to directly address governmental agency representatives with questions that are directly tailored to specific situations. It will also provide a network friendly environment where these business leaders can learn from each other’s experiences. Dialogue and questions from these discussions will set the stage for the district-wide “Think Tank” event.

The “Think Tank” event will be held on September 18, 2017 at the Georgia Piedmont Technical College Conference Center. This event will be an extension of the smaller roundtable discussions and will be open to all business leaders around the district who will be able to benefit from informative panel discussions, and interactive individual participation geared towards addressing their specific needs.
