Congressman Jeff Duncan will be at the Hickory Point Gas Station in Laurens, SC tomorrow morning from 8:30am-10:00am to listen to stories from families and small business owners on how they are being negatively impacted by soaring fuel costs.

"South Carolina families are hurting, trying to decide between putting fuel in their car to go to work and putting food on the table to feed their children” said Duncan.

Last week the House passed three bills intended to provide relief at the pump by increasing energy production in the United States.  Over the weekend, President Obama responded to the increased political pressure from Congress by agreeing to lift small portions of the current ban on off-shore drilling.

“By opening up our nation’s resources to energy exploration and production, we’ll help lower the cost at the pump, create high paying American jobs, and strengthen our economy and our national security by decreasing dependence on Middle East oil” Duncan stated.

Constituents are encouraged to come by, talk about their concerns, and have their gas pumped by Congressman Duncan.
