Hatch said the decision to mandate preventive services, including birth control and emergency contraception, for health insurance plans violated the landmark law, the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, and further highlighted the constitutional defects of the $2.6 trillion partisan health law.

Senate Republicans call on the Obama administration to rescind its recent ruling which will force religious institutions to pay for contraceptive services that would violate their religious beliefs. Our country was built by individuals who came to this continent to practice their religion free of government interference. If the Obama administration doesn't act to rescind this ruling and restore religious liberty, Republicans will.

U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.) participated in a press conference on February 8, 2012, with U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.), U.S. Senate Republican Conference Chairman John Thune (S.D.), and U.S. Senators Marco Rubio (Fla.) and Kelly Ayotte (N.H.) regarding the Obama Administration's violation of Americans' religious freedom.
