DeMint: Senators Introduce Transparency Resolution

Would require 72-hour public disclosure of final legislative text before Senate votes  

 

 

 

 

October 7, 2009 - WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina), chairman of the Senate Steering Committee, cosponsored a resolution introduced by U.S. Senator Jim Bunning (R-Kentucky) that would create a Senate rule to enact a 72-hour waiting period and a Congressional Budget Office (CBO) score before considering any legislation in the United States Senate and all of its committees. The resolution is supported by more than 20 Republican senators, and 7 Democrat senators and one independent have expressed support for the same 72-hour review period
