    My amendment to demand 's release was adopted at an international meeting in July. It sent a strong message to Turkey: the world will not tolerate these human rights violations and Pastor Brunson must be freed.

    What a great day for the Brunson family and for America! I am grateful for ’s leadership to bring Pastor Brunson home.

    Pastor Andrew Brunson, released by Turkey, will be with me in the Oval Office at 2:30 P.M. (this afternoon). It will be wonderful to see and meet him. He is a great Christian who has been through such a tough experience. I would like to thank President for his help!

    NC Pastor Andrew Brunson has been freed. All we can say now is thank God. I’m glad this terrible chapter is closed, and I applaud for taking strong action to help secure Pastor Brunson’s freedom. Here's my full statement:

    Pastor Andrew Brunson has been wrongfully imprisoned and his charges should have been dropped a long time ago. Praying for him as he faces another hearing in Turkey today. I am hopeful he will be released and returned home to the U.S.
