    A good question for AG Sessions when he visits Chicago tomorrow to talk about crime: why is he still withholding federal Byrne JAG grant funding from the City? These are formula-based violence prevention funds, not a bargaining chip for the AG to use for ideological purposes.

    In 2016, there were 72 pregnancy-associated maternal deaths in Illinois & 985 infant deaths. Today, women of color are three to four times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than white women. This is unacceptable.

    Pres. Trump can’t give the Saudis a cowardly pass for this barbaric act to suppress a dissident — just as he has with Putin. They have undermined their status as a trusted ally — our only response should be to adhere to US values and show there is a price to pay for such conduct.
