    Mr. President, I am telling you as a former commander that troops in combat need to see their Commander in Chief. It is a huge deal when one visits, and it doesn’t go unnoticed when there’s been no visit. Cancel a rally or two, and go see our troops, now.

    This policy change is cruel, utterly unnecessary, and punishes gay and lesbian diplomats who don’t live in the 12% of member states that recognize marriage equality. It also opens up our diplomats to retaliation abroad, endangering their safety.
