Wasn't it a consentual relationship?

-
Yes, but she was a 22 year old unpaid intern and he was the president of the United States. It may have been consensual but it was absolutely inappropriate. It’s the ultimate boss/ subordinate relationship.
-
Every affair is inappropriate. An affair with a consenting adult you work with is not an abuse of power; it's just shabby and shameful.
-
Except he was her superior. The extreme difference in power should not be overlooked.
-
You can consent to engaging in sexual acts with a world leader without being coerced. You can also say no.
-
But it is all too easy to be coerced, or have your career threatened, especially when kept secret. You can imagine the weight Bill could hold against her. It's possible to be consensual, but it's very hard to serve justice If something goes wrong.
-
I mean he was impeached in relation to the whole deal so considering he is not in office in any shape or form, not running for office, wasn't running for office, what else would you want done about it? You only believe sexual assault accusations against the left?
-
Actually he was impeached for lying about it and encouraging her to lie about it, which only goes to prove my point.

Additionally, the power differential between the two automatically made it extremely inappropriate.

Except Lewinski was an adult and pursued him. Yes, he should have refused but the point HRC is making — there was no abuse - just bad decisions. Now GFO.
-
Many would argue that because Bill was Monica's boss, that he would give in her was a form of abuse. I agree that this is the fuzzier of Bill's abuse cases.

This is why you are a great congressman to me: You're both progressive and objective.

who has yet to put his mark on any landslide historical or other wise significant legislation - he sure is a media whore tho

Yarmuth has made a positive mark in many ways. It doesn't just have to be *your* way.

I still wish she were our President instead of the admitted sexual predator who has been accused of sexually abusing 19 women by 19 credible women and who also allegedly tied a 13 yr old child to a bed and raped her. Beware of false equivalencies. This is how Trump gets by.

Thank you for understanding that! It would be fair to say we have learned more about power dynamics, and at the time it was considered consensual. But it is irresponsible to just excuse it.
-
Yarmouth's divisive attack on Clinton just pissed off a lot of Clinton voters, not good considering mid terms are coming!!! Awful how men and some women continue to shame Hillary for an affair her husband had.
-
Or, another way to look at it, the Clintons are putting themselves back into the spotlight right before the midterms, which is courting controversy. She will never be objective on this; I get that. But she needs to read the room better, and stop sabotaging the dems, who do it...
-
on their own. Is it fair, no. But she is asking for criticism to go back out there right now. If she wants to be left alone, doing interviews and a tour is not the way.
