    Today, I had privilege to join Oxnard’s Sgt. Maj John Canley & his family at the White House as he received Medal of Honor for heroism during Vietnam War. His dedication to our country is unparalleled & he's one of the most humble people I've ever met.

    President Trump must focus on identifying, properly vetting, and appointing a permanent leader at the Veterans Health Administration, so VA can enact the reforms that Congress has mandated and are desperately needed.

    The VA has recently established a commission find to a permanent Undersecretary for Health – the 4th of its kind in the last 20 months. It's outrageous that nearly 2 years into his presidency, President Trump has failed to prioritize veterans’ healthcare & fill this critical job.

    VA announces they are forming a search committee for a new Under Secretary for Health -- fourth time they've done this. Post has been vacant since Jan 2017 (filled by acting officials).

    . has issued a Red Flag Warning for our area, due to strong winds that bring the potential for wildfires. I urge everyone to keep themselves up to date, listen to warnings from authorities & have a wildfire action plan in place to protect yourself, your family & your home.

    Damaging wind gusts between 65-75 mph expected across the mountains of LA/Ventura counties. Locally damaging winds likely to extend into the valleys and foothills, with isolated gusts up to 65 mph. Be alert for downed trees/powerlines and power outages.
