Proud to honor principals in Minnesota & across the country with this bipartisan resolution. I have so much respect for the work principals do each day—principals wear many hats to ensure schools function as they should and help teachers give high-quality education for students.

Glad to see the federal court ruled in favor of helping students who have been defrauded by for-profit colleges get the loan forgiveness they deserve. This is a major win for students and a huge blow to the for-profit industry.

Yesterday I stopped by a new child care center in Stewartville. Here’s an excerpt about the visit from KIMT. I recently introduced a child care bill which responds to many of the concerns I have heard from Minnesota child care providers and families.

Minnesota educators are having to shell out their own money to help students—sometimes up to thousands of dollars. I firmly believe that our education system should work for all—including our teachers. We need to do more to help them.

Too often, Minnesota families can't access quality, affordable child care. I’ve made it a top priority to fix this problem. Today I visited Sprouts Childcare and Early Education Center in Stewartville, which will help address a shortage of child care in the area.

Not everyone wants or needs to go to a four-year college. But everyone should be able to find a good-paying career. That’s why I fought to get my provisions to improve career and technical education included in a bipartisan bill that was signed into law.

I’m pressing to investigate a rare, polio-like disorder that is on the rise—multiple children in MN have been diagnosed with it. We need to determine the cause of the outbreak & the best course of treatment & prevention to keep families healthy.

Every Minnesotan—& American—deserves fair pay & safe working conditions. I’m glad to hear of the tentative contract agreement btwn & US Steel, which impacts Minntac in Mountain Iron & Keewatin Taconite. Now hoping for a fair agreement btwn ArcelorMittal & the USW.

Students should be able to access the mental health care they need. I’m glad the Pres will soon sign into law a package of bills to tackle the opioid crisis. Part of this package is a bipartisan bill that I co-wrote to ↑ access to mental health services in schools & communities.

Textbooks are often overlooked when it comes to the cost of going to college. I’m working with some great colleagues to urge Education Secretary to implement the Open Textbooks Pilot so we can save money for students.
