  1. Much of rural Alaska still lacks access to broadband internet service. The FCC needs to do better to reach tribal populations. Establishing broadband infrastructure will enhance the lives of Native Alaskans & also advance safe/environmentally responsible maritime activity.

  2. During an hearing we examined Government Accountability Office re: broadband internet availability on tribal lands. The GAO found that less than 1% of FCC & about 14% of Rural Utility Service funding went to tribes & tribally-owned providers—unacceptably low.
