Every member of Congress has sworn to uphold the Constitution, including the right to the #FreePress. I’m introducing a bill to uphold our oath and make clear that we support liberty and free speech. WATCH LIVE: https://www.facebook.com/SenBrianSchatz/

This resolution also “condemns attacks on the institution of the free press and views efforts to systematically undermine the credibility of the press as a whole as an attack on our democratic institution.”

Can you do some actual work to make our lives better and not waste your time writing “Trump shouldn’t be rude to CNN” decrees

Doesn't the Constitution do this? You know, the law Trump swore to preserve, protect, and defend in the Presidential oath? The free press is the adversary of the liar in chief. As it should be.

The
#FreePress you are talking about was taken over by bias people under cover of the press a long time ago. A real journalist must be unbias. The "journalists" that make up our "free press" today are not that and they are indeed a threat to our country. -
Spoken like a true brainwashed MAGA.
-
Because your news channel is so unbias.

Could you do more? Like impeachment perhaps?
-
One more time: impeachment starts in the House of Representatives, Paul Ryan isn't going to do anything.
-
Of course, but if dems win, it's all over

I applaud the sentiment but all these resolutions are useless. Trump will ignore them just as he does actual laws. When is Congress going to take real action?

That would be great if the press only reported the truth. I think We The People are smart enough to decide who our enemies are. We don't need our government passing laws to tell us who our enemies are.
-
This is just one more attempt to take away our freedoms. Next the government will be telling us what churches we can support.
-
We need less interference from the government telling us what to do and what to think, not more.

Then I guess we need to Introduce a Resolution that affirms that the Majority of the Press is misleading the Public on a Daily Basis and that is why our President calls them
