Your common sense is something slowly dying in American politics. Keep up the good fight, Senator.

I agree. It might be no coincidence that he has an (I) following his name. Maybe that is the answer to our biggest problem in politics, independence and publicly funded elections.

Thank you. Our principled endeavor to convey reason to your colleague, my other Senator, has failed and I am exhausted from the effort and despairing for our country but you, Sir, are a ray of light.

It was so refreshing to hear a nonpartisan, reasoned legal argument against
#Kavanaugh’s confirmation on the floor tonight. Your speech will be remembered by history as akin to Eisenhower’s Farewell Address. You tried to warn us! Thank you Sen. King!!pic.twitter.com/svm6KZjwD6

Two years until you have a new Maine Senate mate. Think it will be an exciting time in that regard.

It is refreshing to know that there are people such as you in the Senate who aren't so single minded that they cannot see the clear reasons why Kavanaugh is a bad choice for the court. Thank you for your clear headed position and for having all our best interests in mind.

At least one of the Senators from Maine has honor and courage. Thanks Governor.
-
He ran our state into tremendous debt as Gov.

Nice comeback. What is Trump doing with our nation? How's our deficit looking? Hypocrites.

By “overly rigid judicial philosophy”, I assume you mean actually following the Constitution, like it says in that oath all of you take. Remember when you put your hand on that big book?
-
It’s easy to be rigid when the constitution includes you in its origin. However, I will let Thomas Jefferson remind us.pic.twitter.com/znXZZTuXJC
-
No problem. That’s what amendments are for. Adherence to the constitution as a way of interpreting the law is a good thing, and the more we replace activist judges with constitutionalists, the better.
-
“Activist judges” is a partisan talking point not a real issue. The point is that if those with power don’t ever include you, how will you gain admittance to the constitution? Why should we have to wait for the kindness of oppressors?
-
Activist judges are very real. They constantly expand their jurisdiction to include lawfully enacted legislation and policies that they simply don’t like. Happens all the time.
-
So “activist judges” can be from either side of the political bend or only those judges who interpret the constitution to include more people? Please define.
-
and....?
