    It’s on all of us to tone down the hateful, political rhetoric. We should debate the issues because more often than not, I think we’ll find we agree. But even when we disagree, we should try to understand the other side and work to find common ground.

    There is a truck driving shortage across the country and programs like this one help people get the necessary training to take those open jobs. Thank you to President Dr. Dale Chapman for hosting us!

    This change is long overdue & I have fought tirelessly for it since my first term in Congress. My legislation, which was signed into law, will help level the playing field & ensure rural areas are treated fairly when a disaster happens & help is needed.

    The Purple Heart is a symbol of bravery & is awarded to those who are wounded in combat or have paid the ultimate sacrifice in defending our country. I will always support the men & women in uniform who put their lives on the line to protect our freedoms.

    Honored to speak at the dedication ceremony for the Bloomington Firefighter Service Memorial. It was a community effort in making this memorial a reality. Congrats to on 150 years of service & we are thankful for those in uniform who selflessly run towards danger.

    Glad to support the First Responders Ceremony in Decatur yesterday. I met Chris Moore at open office hours and he shared his passion of raising awareness for Slow Down Move Over, which helps protect our first responders on the road.

    This morning I met with Connie and John, and their friend Suzanne. They founded Marisa's Purpose to save others from experiencing what they did when they lost their daughter to an opioid overdose. We discussed ways we can work together to combat this epidemic.

    I have been working with this administration to change this unnecessary restriction and I thank President Trump for keeping his promise to farmers in rural America by allowing for year-round sale of E15.
