Issue? The water is for sharks and other water creatures. The land is for humans and other land creatures. If you decide to swap environments, then you’re taking a risk that involves your life. Very sad to here but there is no issue other than Mother Nature working as planned.

Watching people blame politicians and it is silly. I am so sad for this man and his family. But, we take risks, otherwise, life would be very boring and sterile. Sometimes it does not end well.
-
Exactly. Risk vs Reward. Very sad for his family. Losses are never easy to swallow. But we aren’t blaming mountains for avalanches...

America: 1 shark death in 80 years. We must take action now. 1 mass shooting a week. Nothing to see here...

The issue? The water is their home. Swim at your own risk. Issue resolved.

Can’t address nature. Stay out of the ocean

Easy! Stop humans going into the water where SHARKS LIVE. They live there. THEY ARE SHARKS. Done!

Don't blame the SHARK. If you take a chance to go into their environment, you are part of the food chain. Why wasn't there drones flying to scan the area so life guards can clear the water when sharks are swimming? Don't blame the sharks.

We cannot protect every aspect of human life. The summer was over and typical services had ended. There is only so much money in every community’s budget. I am so sorry for this loss of life. It is the first death from shark attack since the 1930’s.
-
That's my point. I don't want officials going in an hunting the shark down to kill it.
-
I love sharks!
You are so right. They should not kill the shark. We are in their environment.
-
Exactly. Too many times I see forest rangers or game wardens go in and put an animal down after an attack. It breaks my heart.

One shark in 80 something years. There’s nothing to address.

I'm going to be very disappointed if you "address this issue" by trying to proactively kill the sharks. The loss of a man's life is tragic but the ocean is full of dangers. You take a risk any time you go in the water and that can't be policed or legislated by anyone.

There’s no issue. It’s nature. It’s their home not ours. We kill hundreds of millions of sharks every year. They kill 6 humans per year. Don’t do anything about it...

Keeping people out if the water is pretty much the only humane solution.

This is so sad. The way to deal with this is for people to not go in the water for now - but for the future especially not when seals are drawing great whites close to shore. Let them migrate south.
