    Thank you to for taking the time to meet with me. We had a productive conversation about the opioids epidemic and how we can't simply jail our way out of this crisis. We must treat substance use disorder as a behavioral health concern not only a criminal justice issue.

    In July, I introduced the Land Grant & Acequia Traditional Use Recognition Act to provide more consultation between the federal government and land grants & acequias. Today at I called for a hearing on my legislation to recognize traditional land uses in New Mexico.
