Those taken by the opioid crisis are deeply loved. They need compassion and help to overcome their disease. It’s so important that we destigmatize substance use disorders and work together to help save these precious lives.

What troubles me about this is how the word "opiates" and other derivatives are used instead of "prescription drugs" or "heroin". There is a difference between the two. One is prescribed and the other is smuggled illegally into the country.
