Hispanic Heritage Month may have ended, but it went out on a high note. Oscar Romero, the champion of the people of El Salvador who was assassinated for his leadership, is now a Saint:

The Administration has undermined critical environmental safeguards at every turn – threatening the overall health and safety of our communities. I’m working to stop these reckless acts.

I am deeply saddened that North Hills resident Peggy Frank’s life was cut short so tragically. Postal Service trucks should have air-conditioning, especially in the San Fernando Valley. I am determined to make certain that this does not happen again.

This is not about "bad politics" - it is about your Administration's dismal response to which resulted in the longest blackout in American history, enormous suffering and - yes - an estimated 3,000 of our fellow citizens' deaths. Shame on you!

As we remember 9/11, it’s so important that we never forget what the brave service men and women did on that day, and all the ways they continue to keep us safe today.

Always understand that you are the example. Try to be the good example in so many ways. You will have the power of finance. The power of giving back. Don't forget where you came from.

Months after the initial news broke, more than 500 children remain separated from their parents because of President Trump's so-called zero tolerance policy. Ripping a child from her mother causes incredible harm to both. We must NOW.
