Standing “Thankful” with you. I am sorry this moment of appreciation to farmers was used by others to politically dump... not appropriate for this post. This post is one of appreciation. God bless all the farmers!

We all appreciate farmers. We simply don’t appreciate Doug’s pandering knowing he cheated an already generous farm subsidy system by subdividing his farm to get around the limits & thus multiplying his pymts, receiving millions of taxpayer funded dollars, more than his fair share
-
-
Farmers do need subsidies sometimes. We all get that. But to work around the rules, to take what’s not needed, to take so much it adds up to millions of dollars is greedy and repulsive. Good farmers don’t behave this way.
-
Your concern may be fair, I just don’t think this thread is the appropriate place to air it. I suspect you would have been perfectly happy with his post had anyone of your friends posted it. Your concern is about morality above just being legal, then so do social media manners.
-
This is his official government account. It’s presence is political. It’s not a friend. It’s a man who uses his position to consistently vote against policies that will help many people while acting in a very self-serving manner.
-
His involvement in the 2014 farm bill which removed transparency of subsidy pymts and his involvement in the recent bill, which is skewed in favor of corporate ag, makes his little greeting to true hard working farmers insincere and nothing but falsely solicitous.
-
As a constituent, I reserve the right to call him out in his falsehoods. This is very much the place.

This from the
#corporate#agribusiness person who subdivided the family farm to get around the law and maximize their the amount of money he could siphon from government subsidies.#notAFarmer#NotOneOfUsThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Doug you are not the only farmer running for Congress in District One. Please vote Audrey Denney. She does not accept corporate donations. She also does not accept farm subsidies. LaMalfa Farms is the number one recipient of subsidies in the countrypic.twitter.com/Nq3MiZmgdf

“To increase the subsidy available under federal rules, LaMalfa subdivided his family's 2,000 acre rice farm into parcels for six family members, thus multiplying by six parts the $180,000 a year per person "farm welfare" limit.”-Nevada County Union 2/13/13

One of Doug's favorite pastimes is pulling the farmer's own wool over their eyes. Right around election time, he tries to pretend he's the rural man's choice. "I'm a farmer! I'm one of you!" He looks out for himself. He doesn't give a crap about working people.
