I spent this morning at Denham Springs HS talking to a group of 10th graders in AP American Government. We discussed our nation's blueprint, the constitution, and how it has stood the test of time. It is imperative that students across our country understand how our govt works.

Today in , I met some very special VIPs. These future movers and shakers are the children of Rodney Smith, a nominee to be a U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of Florida.

There is no doubt in my mind that Jamal Khashoggi was killed and that Saudi Arabia was behind it. Jamal Khashoggi didn’t just fall through a hole in the universe. I trust most middle-eastern countries about as much as I trust gas station sushi.

Happy National Wildlife Refuge Week! Celebrate by discovering 1 of the 23 wildlife refuges in Louisiana. Wildlife refuges conserve & protect some of the nation’s most beautiful pieces of land & water. That’s why I introduced a resolution recognizing the celebration of the refuges

After months of deliberation, hearings and investigations, today I voted to confirm Judge Kavanaugh to be the next Associate Justice of the US Supreme Court. He’s whip-smart. He believes that the role of a judge is to determine what the law is and not what the law ought to be.

For me, today is a day of hope. We’re going to approve the appointment of a new Supreme Court justice who understands the court’s role and the Madisonian separation of powers.

This is what the U.S. Capitol was like today as I walked to the Senate floor for the vote on Judge Kavanaugh.

I had coffee this morning w/ Capitol Police officers to celebrate Coffee with a Cop Day. If you hate cops, just because they’re cops then the next time you get in trouble call a crackhead. They do great work, & I’m very thankful for their dedication to our security on the Hill.

This is not a political game. I’m interested in the facts. And I have to hear Dr. Ford’s story and then I want to hear Judge Kavanaugh’s story. Let’s get the facts.
