Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, and Republicans in Washington are making a mess of our health care system, causing premiums to increase and care to decrease while threatening to gut protections for pre-existing conditions.

Democrats are focused like a laser on health care and will not be diverted.

I try to avoid the echo chamber, but what did the Republicans structurally change to Obamacare that's created this disaster? I seem to remember astronomical increases in health care since 2011. Asking for a friend...
-
The ACA is a 3-legged stool: --Insurance companies can't deny anyone or charge sick people more --everyone has to participate, healthy or not --low-income families who can't pay their full premium get a subsidy trump's removal of that second leg was a deliberate act of sabotage.
-
...and that second leg was fractured from the start. ACA was fundamentally flawed from the start, and only served to put a chartreuse band-aid on an open would. Partisan politics is never going to resolve this.
-
Why was it flawed? Why shouldn’t we all contribute to the pool that covers us all?
-
Because it doesn't work, can you name one country in the world that has a working form of this socialist program. And don't name Sweden or Canada until you have done more research, they are not working either.
-
They are working a hell of a lot better than our system! No Swede or Canadian is declaring bankruptcy due to medical debt. And they live longer than we do. Show me a for-profit system that covers all citizens and is affordable. Betcha can’t.
-
This is interesting. So, they have problems. Are you suggesting we don’t? Our answer to healthcare does not have to follow any one model. But something MUST BE DONE. Doing nothing is not an option either.

Nope it’s not. The Democrats are so out of touch with average Americans. It’s why they keep losing...everything.
-
So more jobs, accessible/affordable healthcare, immigrant. reform, affordable housing, sensible gun laws, protect social security, the wealthy pay their fair share in taxes, protecting voters rights, clean energy/jobs, affordable college, is not what the average American wants?
-
Yes it is
-
Well, that's the Democratic platform. Many get caught up in the drama of this current admin, but generally speaking most people want the same thing and we need to stop letting this circus divide us, because we'll all still be here once this admin is gone.
-
Agree. Most Americans want the same thing.
-
What we should be asking Schumer is, what's his solution, show us his plan. No more words, if his party had majority, what's the actual plan.
-
Thats the problem.They have none.
-
GOP has had the majority for a long while now, obviously they had no plan because these problems still exist. Dems say they have a plan, show us the blueprints.

As a door knock canvasser for Democratic and progressive campaigns for decades I can tell you: Income is the #1 issue in America. Economy, jobs, Social Security, and enough income to afford healthcare and education. Senator Schumer: fight for 15.
-
mr schumer please fight for us seniors too.if we all could get 1500.00 a month we could make a car payment or a house payment and have money to spend to help the economy.
-
Your right Ms. Wilcox, our senior citizens are being overlooked, while the rest of America focus on immigration, health care, and trade. They need more money, and have earned it!
