    History is repeating itself before our eyes. Women like Christine Blasey Ford—just like Anita Hill back in 1991—are being ignored instead of believed. From this perspective, not much has changed in the last 27 years between these two speeches I gave on the House Floor.

    We should not be spending a dime on indefinitely detaining children, but President Trump wants to spend billions. Where are our values?

    I spent the last month+ doing a deep dive for on the proposed rule that would dissolve the Flores settlement / allow the Trump admin to indefinitely detain kids in immigration jails. Tl;dr it will be VERY costly to the Govt

    More lies. The Affordable Care Act protects people with pre-existing conditions. You want to repeal it, and Republicans in Congress have tried to repeal it more than 70 times.

    All Republicans support people with pre-existing conditions, and if they don’t, they will after I speak to them. I am in total support. Also, Democrats will destroy your Medicare, and I will keep it healthy and well!

    A life-saving drug is 100% ineffective when it is unaffordable. Drug companies are making record profits and receiving government benefits left and right while everyday Americans have to decide between paying rent and buying the medicines their family members need to survive.

    I wrote a letter w/ urging & to brief congressmembers on the prolonged detention of unaccompanied kids, including at Tornillo's tent city. The admin's continued use of temporary detention facilities is simply unjustifiable.

    This rule delay from is a big win for students who have been preyed upon by for-profit colleges.

    SCOOP: won’t make the Nov 1 deadline to finalize two major higher edcaution regulations (gainful employment and borrower defense.) That means instead of being implemented in July 2019, the earliest they can go into effect is July 2020.
