    Today, I took to the House floor to speak against 2.0. It would make the kickbacks to millionaires and corporations from the original permanent by jeopardizing Medicare and Social Security for our seniors and raising taxes on CA's hardworking taxpayers.

    Today, I’m meeting with local seniors to talk retirement security. I’ll have to explain to them that after decades of hard work, wants to cut their Social Security & Medicare benefits & bury them under a wall of debt to pay for the billions in tax cuts for the 1%.

    The federal deficit ballooned to $779 billion in the just-ended fiscal year — a remarkable tide of red ink for a country not mired in recession or war.

    This doesn’t even make any sense. The whole point of our foreign assistance to Honduras is to address the root causes of migration—cutting it off would only lead to more migration.

    The United States has strongly informed the President of Honduras that if the large Caravan of people heading to the U.S. is not stopped and brought back to Honduras, no more money or aid will be given to Honduras, effective immediately!
