  1. I had a great time stopping by Kroger in Peoria to ask folks what’s on their minds and find out what they want me to fight for in Congress. There’s a lot of concern over the high cost of healthcare.

I had a great time touring the Roosevelt Community Education Center in Rockford, which truly goes above and beyond for their students. Roosevelt offers day care services and credit recovery programs to ensure all students are able to finish their education. Thanks for having me!

For the 38th stop on my Library of Congress Book Delivery Tour, I donated books to the Colona library. I heard concerns about how our rural libraries often have a harder time accessing high-speed broadband and other basic resources they need to get ahead.

This morning I got to spend some time with Adam, Shayna and Anna, who are interning in our office in Rock Island. It was inspiring to hear about their future plans and interest in public service. Thank you for all of your hard work!

We are a nation of laws and it is an outright lie for anyone to say Democrats want open borders. While Democrats have been fighting for comprehensive immigration reform, Washington Republicans sat on their hands and refused to allow a vote. My statement 👇

I had a great time speaking with the Peoria Airport, business leaders, local elected officials & my colleague about the importance of the airport to our economy. I’ll continue to fight for federal funds that create jobs and ensure we remain competitive.

I had an extremely meaningful morning in Peoria where we dedicated the new Veterans Memorial. Thank you to all of our veterans and all of the brave men and women who wear the uniform today for your sacrifices and service.

Even though this has been a very frustrating last week, at today’s Supermarket Saturday at Aldi in Peoria, I was reminded again that there’s so much more that unites us than divides us.

Our ultimate goal should always be to get to the truth & to ensure that we have people who are of the highest integrity serving in positions like the Supreme Court. I don’t think we achieved that in this process. My full statement here:
