Real question, if these are still available & we haven’t seen an uptick in crimes committed with bump stocks, why does it matter, seems like a talking point of irrelevance to me

FYI: I have no strong feelings regarding Bump stocks either way, I’m just tired of arguments that state there’s a monster under the bed & but it never quite materializes

Fully automatic weapons are illegal for a reason. These devices allow a semi automatic to function like a fully automatic weapon. So no one else has been sick and twisted enough to kill this many people again in the past year, why make it easy for the next one to happen?
-
Full Auto is legal in 39 states dude.
-
Yeah if you have a FFL, a type 3 SOT, and ATF form with a tax stamp. So yeah, if you want to spend thousands of dollars and get the governments permission you can legally own one.

Thank you for remembering this horrific event. As an LV resident, the national silence/amnesia is baffling.
-
I agree, I didn't hear #45 say a word about it. I am still disturbed. It took me months to go down to the Strip afterwards.

I’m a Canadian and I feel like I’m losing my mind WATCHING the amnesia and insanity.

I am a veteran and I can assure you that assault rifles are a major problem. The only function an assault rifle has is to assault and take life. I am all for us having the right to bear arms but let me ask you this. Why is it that an 18 year old can purchase an assault rifle?
-
I have seen what assault rifles do and I can assure you there isn't one damn reason to own one except to kill someone! I said I agree we have the right to bear arms but do I think an 18 year old punk with anger problems should be able to get one? Hell no!!

The presence of a bump stock or the lack of one would have had no bearing in how many people were affected by violence that day. Someone did this, a firearm accessory did not. If you want to focus on an inanimate object, you have to focus on the base firearm.
-
Says who? You? Holy f***, you are the literal personification of "dumb as a bag of hair".
-
A bump stock doesn’t fire bullets. The firearm it was attached to would have fired them without it. We all want to stop violence, going after a bump stock achieves nothing. You want to ban sales of anything? Ban sales of upper and lower receivers. But hey, I’m just a bag of hair.
-
No, DUMB as a bag of hair. A BUMP STOCK FACILITATES RAPID FIRE FROM AN OTHERWISE NON RAPID FIRE WEAPON!
-
That means nothing without trigger discipline. the rate of fire on his weapon was plenty dangerous with the stock buttstock. The accessory is not the cause of the tragedy, and the lack of one would not have prevented it.
-
You don’t need trigger discipline to fire a now fully automatic weapon into a crowd of unarmed people, I can guarantee that fewer lives would have been lost had his weapon still been semiautomatic
