    Any rollback of protections for people with pre-existing conditions would be devastating. Whether people are on the exchange or getting health care through an employer – nobody should ever be denied because of a pre-existing condition.

    Leland, who served in WWII, loved Betty for many years. That love continues to shine through as Betty shares the memories of her husband. I was deeply honored to help Betty finally get her long-overdue VA survivor benefits. I’m sure Leland wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.

    In Congress, I have pushed for the National Broadband Map to include info on the availability of mobile broadband services to help plan to expand access and identify shortcomings. It is an important first step in securing broadband access for all.

    In Congress, I sponsor the bipartisan Teachers Are Leaders Act, which provides teachers with more ways to advance while also staying in the classroom. Many times teachers leave the classroom because of lack of opportunity and insufficient pay.

    This , I’m wearing purple to stand against bullying. Just like there is no word that rhymes with purple - there is no excuse for bullying. Let’s lift each other up, regardless of our differences, and regardless of how we identify or who we love.
