VA Travel Nurse Corps (TNC) Interim Staffing Program

Working with and for America's Veterans is a privilege. The VHA Interim Staffing Program’s Travel Nurse Corps (TNC) branch is an internal cadre of highly-trained Registered Nurses who provide temporary staffing assistance to VA health care facilities to support Veterans’ health care needs. TNC nurses help deliver VA health care in rural or underserved areas, and support high patient care quality and safety standards.

Licensed, qualified RNs can apply for consideration by the Interim Staffing Program-Travel Nurse Corps. Selected RNs receive intermittent VHA appointments. After orientation and training, including instruction on the special needs of Veteran and health informatics, RNs can travel to work at VHA health care facilities that request TNC services. The ISP-TNC offers competitive compensation – TNC nurses are paid for the time they work; their travel, lodging, meals and incidental expenses may be covered as allowed by government travel regulations.
