General Aviation ADS-B Rebate Program

On October 12, 2018, the FAA restarted the ADS-B Rebate Program. The program will end promptly on October 11, 2019 or when the available rebates are all claimed, so act soon!

ADS-B Rebate

7,227 Rebates remain as of December 20, 2018

ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast) is a foundational NextGen technology that transforms aircraft surveillance with GPS-based precision. Aircraft owners should equip as soon as possible to capture the benefits of ADS-B and ensure they will continue to be able to fly in airspace described by the ADS-B rule when compliance with the rule is required by January 1, 2020.

Starting on October 12, 2018, the FAA will offer rebates of $500 to owners of fixed-wing, single-engine piston aircraft based on their purchase of avionics that have received an ADS-B Technical Standard Order authorization and meet ADS-B Out rule requirements. The program will run for approximately one year or until the funds for all remaining rebates are exhausted, whichever comes first.

Find out if you are eligible for a rebate:

Eligible aircraft: U.S.-registered, fixed-wing, single-engine piston aircraft first registered before January 1, 2016.

Eligible equipment: ADS-B Out avionics that have received an ADS-B Technical Standard Order authorization and meet ADS-B Out rule requirements (software upgrades of existing equipment are not eligible). Rebates are not available for aircraft already equipped or for which the FAA has paid or committed to upgrade.

Proof of equipage: Rebate reservations can only be made within 90 days of installation. Within 60 days of installation, aircraft must be flown in "rule airspace" as defined in 14 CFR 91.225 for a minimum of 30 minutes with at least 10 aggregate minutes of maneuvering (AC 20-165B contains flight maneuver recommendations).

When within 90 days of avionics installation, reserve your rebate; receive your Rebate Reservation Code.

Step 3

Install the TSO-certified ADS-B avionics on your eligible aircraft.

Step 4

Fly per program rules within 60 days of installation to validate equipment performance; receive incentive code.

Step 5

Within 60 days of the installation date, use your Rebate Reservation Code and Incentive Code to claim your rebate.
