Climate change caused by human activity, as opposed to changes that may have resulted as part of Earth's natural processes, is subject to regulation in the U.S. In the context of environmental policy, the term climate change is synonymous with anthropogenic global warming. This search includes climate change studies, notifications, and regulatory actions of the scientific agencies, including the Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Energy, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Department of State, Department of Agriculture, and others.
