Readjusting to civilian life after serving in the military can be difficult. An important part of providing quality care is making sure that VA establishes a support network to aid Veterans in their transition.
Make the Connection
Make the Connection is a public awareness campaign that provides personal testimonials and resources to help Veterans discover ways to improve their lives. Many Veterans return not only with physical wounds but also mental health issues they may not recognize.
The Make the Connection campaign encourages Veterans and their families to "make the connection" with information and resources, with the strength and resilience of Veterans like themselves, with other people, and with available sources of support including mental health treatments.
Vet Center Program
A mobile Vet Center serving the community.
The Vet Center Program is one such support network. Vet Centers are community based and provide a broad range of counseling, outreach, and referral services to eligible Veterans.
Veterans' family members may be eligible for Vet Center services as well. VA also has "mobile Vet Centers" that can travel to meet Veterans where they live.

Caregiver Support
Veterans' families and caregivers often need support, too. That's why VA offers assistance through the Caregiver Support program. VA Caregiver Support services include help and guidance from Caregiver Support Coordinators, Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) Centers, Skilled Home Care, and Respite Care.
