Organic Roots Collection

The Organic Roots Digital Collection aims to harness the information from our agrarian roots to ensure the sustainability and longevity of today’s small farms. It is an electronic collection of historic USDA documents published before 1942 (before synthetic chemicals became widely used) that contain information and data that is still pertinent for today's agriculture.

The documents in the collection were specifically chosen for their relevance to today’s sustainable and organic farmers. This collection is intended to be a resource for farmers, researchers, and anyone else who may be interested in sustainable agriculture.

Please note that these are historical documents and the content may not reflect current scientific knowledge, policies, or practices. Please consult with your local extension agent or other agricultural professional before adopting any of the practices recommended in these publications.
