Happy Veterans Day from Interior!

Transcript:

Hi, I’m Ryan Zinke, Secretary of the Interior. As America honors all the men and women who have served in the military this Veterans Day, I’d like you to meet someone really special.

This is Senior Master Sergeant Harry Miller, proud U.S. Army veteran, and veteran of the Battle of the Bulge, the last major Nazi offensive on the Western front of World War II.

Harry, when I think about the things that you and the rest of the Greatest Generation did 75 years ago, I’m filled with tremendous awe and respect.

Well, thank you Mister Secretary. But we just did what we had to do at the time, and... we were proud to do it. We were happy to do it.

And Harry, you served in what unit, what tank unit?

740th Tank Battalion. That was my pride and joy, that unit. There’s only two of us left that are mobile. And we’re a proud two, anyway.

Well Harry, on behalf of all Americans, I want to say thank you for your service.

At Interior we’re stewards of some of the most iconic battle sites in American history, from Yorktown to Gettysburg, to Pearl Harbor, to the magnificent World War II monument in Washington DC.

To all the veterans out there, whether you wore your uniform in times of war, or in times of peace, you’ve honored our great nation with your service and sacrifice. And a grateful nation thanks you on this Veterans Day, now and forever. God bless you, and God bless our nation.
