Lead Your FSA: 2018 FSA County Committee Election – Vote Today!
Elections are taking place now for USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) county committees. Eligible voters started receiving ballots the week of Nov. 5, 2018.
Producers must participate or cooperate in an FSA program to be eligible to vote in the county committee election. Farmers and ranchers who supervise and conduct the farming operations of an entire farm, but are not of legal voting age, may also be eligible to vote.
County committees are unique to FSA and serve as a direct link between agricultural communities across the country and USDA. Stop by your local FSA office to learn about the candidates running in your area or look for information in your local FSA GovDelivery monthly electronic bulletin. Not receiving our emails? Make your vote count! All ballots must be returned to your local FSA office, or postmarked no later than, Dec. 3, 2018.

Upcoming Deadlines
- November 1 - Final date to submit an application for payment for 2018 losses under Emergency Assistance for Livestock, Honeybees and Farm-raised Fish Program (ELAP).
- November 12 - Veteran's Day Holiday (Observed). FSA offices are closed.
- November 20 - NAP applications closing date for apples, apricots, grapes, nectarines, peaches, pears, plums, and blueberries.
- November 22 - Thanksgiving Day Holiday. FSA offices are closed.
- December 1 - NAP application closing date for honey. (Since the 1st falls on a weekend, applications will be accepted through Monday, December 3rd).
- December 7 - Final date for farm owners with generic base to enroll in 2018 ARC and PLC programs.
- December 15 - Final date to report fall barley, fall wheat and all other fall-seeded small grains. (Since the 15th falls on a weekend, applications will be accepted through Monday, December 17th).
- December 25 - Christmas Day Holiday. FSA offices are closed.
Ongoing
Reports of Failed Acreage must be filed with the County Office before disposition of the crop.
Reports of Prevented Planting Acreage must be filed with the County Office no later than 15 calendar days after the final planting date for that county.
Reports of loss under the Emergency Assistance for Livestock, Honeybees and Farm-raised Fish Program (ELAP) must be filed within 30 days after the loss is apparent.
Reports of livestock deaths (due to adverse weather) under the Livestock Indemnity Program (LIP) must be filed within 30 days after the death is apparent. An application for payment must be filed no later than 90 calendar days after the end of the calendar year in which the eligible loss condition occurred.
Report any losses for the Noninsured Crop Disaster Program (NAP) within 15 days of when the loss becomes apparent.
