The FSA Enterprise Architecture Program builds on existing Enterprise Architecture (EA) efforts in the Agency and in the USDA by adding a strong and early focus on business modeling, process and data integration, and process improvement. Explicit roles, responsibilities and activities for business and Information Technology (IT) collaboration are designed to address strategic objectives of IT business alignment, skill set development, IT governance and architecture alignment.       

The organizing principle of the program is that EA should be managed strategically as intellectual capital providing actionable answers to business and technology questions. The answers it delivers should be consistent with the Agency's evolving integration and standardization requirements.
